Itineraries
Arrive in Arusha, Tanzania's safari gateway. Meet your safari team and settle into your
accommodation before beginning your birding adventure the following day.
Overnight: Arusha
After breakfast, fly to the Western Serengeti and begin your Tanzania birding safari.
This region provides opportunities to explore diverse habitats while looking for both
resident birds and other wildlife.
Overnight: Western Serengeti
Enjoy an early breakfast before driving through drier country, keeping an eye out for
birds adapted to open and semi-arid habitats. Continue toward Tarangire National Park.
This change in habitat provides an excellent opportunity to add different bird species
to your Tanzania birding experience.
Overnight: Tarangire
Spend a full day exploring Tarangire National Park. Famous for its elephants and baobab
landscapes, Tarangire is also an excellent birding destination with a remarkable variety
of species.
Take your time during game drives to observe birds in woodland, grassland and areas
around water.
Overnight: Tarangire
Drive to Lake Manyara National Park for a full day of bird watching
and wildlife viewing. The park's combination of lake, forest, woodland and open areas
creates a variety of habitats for birdlife.
After your day in the park, continue to Karatu for the night.
Overnight: Karatu
Travel to the Ngorongoro Crater and enjoy birding opportunities around
this spectacular ecosystem. The crater and surrounding conservation area provide an
exciting combination of birdlife, wildlife and dramatic scenery.
Spend the night on the crater rim.

After breakfast, drive toward Ndutu. As you travel through the
conservation area and surrounding plains, continue looking for birds and wildlife.
Arrive in Ndutu and settle into camp for the next two nights.
Overnight: Ndutu
Enjoy a full day exploring Ndutu. The open plains, seasonal water
sources and surrounding habitats provide excellent opportunities for bird watching
alongside spectacular wildlife viewing.
Your guide will help identify species and explain their behaviour, habitats and role in
the ecosystem.

After breakfast, drive toward Ndutu. As you travel through the
conservation area and surrounding plains, continue looking for birds and wildlife.
Arrive in Ndutu and settle into camp for the next two nights.
Overnight: Eastern Serengeti
Enjoy a full day exploring Ndutu. The open plains, seasonal water
sources and surrounding habitats provide excellent opportunities for bird watching
alongside spectacular wildlife viewing.
Your guide will help identify species and explain their behaviour, habitats and role in
the ecosystem.
overnight: Eastern Serengeti
Continue exploring Eastern Serengeti on another full day of birding.
Having additional time in the region allows you to explore different areas and focus on
species that may have been missed earlier in the safari.
Overnight: Eastern Serengeti
Enjoy breakfast at camp before a relaxed final drive toward the Central Serengeti airstrip. Continue bird watching and wildlife viewing along the way before your flight onward. Your 12-day Tanzania birding safari ends with unforgettable memories of Tanzania's landscapes, wildlife and remarkable birdlife.
