Arrive in Arusha, the gateway to Tanzania's northern safari circuit.
After meeting your safari team, transfer to your accommodation and relax
before your Tanzania photography safari begins.
Use the evening to prepare your camera equipment, memory cards and
batteries for the days ahead.
Overnight: Arusha
After breakfast, begin your journey toward the Ngorongoro Conservation
Area and continue to the Ngorongoro Crater Rim.
The dramatic scenery along the way provides opportunities for landscape
photography. As you approach the crater, the changing light and
expansive views create excellent opportunities for wide-angle landscape
images.
Overnight: Ngorongoro Crater Rim
Start the day with a morning game drive inside the Ngorongoro Crater. The
crater's concentration of wildlife provides opportunities to photograph
lions, elephants, buffalo, zebras, wildebeest and other species in a
spectacular natural setting.
After your crater experience, continue toward Ndutu, an important
wildlife and photography area between the Serengeti ecosystem and
Ngorongoro Conservation Area.
Overnight: Ndutu
Spend a full day photographing wildlife around Ndutu.
This area is particularly attractive to wildlife photographers because
of its open landscapes, abundant wildlife and opportunities to observe
predator-prey interactions.
Your photography guide will help position the safari vehicle for
suitable viewing and photography opportunities while maintaining
responsible wildlife-viewing practices.
Overnight: Ndutu
Continue exploring Ndutu with another full day dedicated to wildlife
photography.
Depending on the season and wildlife movements, photography
opportunities may include big cats, wildebeest, zebras, giraffes, birds
and other wildlife.
Early mornings and late afternoons are particularly valuable for
photographers because of the softer natural light and atmospheric
conditions.
Overnight: Ndutu
After breakfast, travel toward Kusini in the southern Serengeti.
The southern Serengeti is known for its expansive plains and
wildlife-rich habitats. The journey itself can provide opportunities for
wildlife and landscape photography.
Arrive at your camp and prepare for the following full days of
photography in the Serengeti.
Overnight: Kusini Serengeti
Spend a full day exploring Kusini Serengeti.
This is an opportunity to concentrate on wildlife photography without
rushing between destinations. Look for lions, cheetahs, leopards,
wildebeest, zebras, birds and other wildlife.
Your guide will help identify promising photography opportunities and
work with you to make the most of changing light and wildlife
behavior.
Overnight: Kusini Serengeti
Enjoy another full day in Kusini Serengeti.
Use the day to refine your wildlife photography techniques and capture
different subjects, compositions and behaviors. From intimate wildlife
portraits to dramatic landscape images, the Serengeti provides an
extraordinary variety of photographic subjects.
Overnight: Kusini Serengeti
Travel toward the Eastern Serengeti, exploring the changing landscapes
and wildlife habitats along the way.
The Eastern Serengeti provides a different photographic environment from
the southern plains, offering opportunities to photograph wildlife in
diverse landscapes.
Arrive at your accommodation and prepare for two more full days of
photography.
Overnight: Eastern Serengeti
Spend a full day photographing the wildlife and landscapes of Eastern
Serengeti.
Depending on seasonal conditions and wildlife movements, photographers
may encounter predators, herbivores, birds and a variety of other
wildlife.
Take advantage of the full-day schedule to spend more time waiting for
and photographing natural behavior rather than simply moving from one
sighting to another.
Overnight: Eastern Serengeti
Enjoy your final full day of wildlife photography in the Eastern
Serengeti.
This is your opportunity to capture additional images of the animals and
landscapes you have encountered throughout the safari. Your guide can
help you search for new subjects and make the most of the final golden
hours in the Serengeti.
Overnight: Eastern Serengeti
Enjoy breakfast at camp before your transfer to the airport. Depending on your flight arrangements, depart from a Serengeti airstrip for your onward journey. Your Tanzania photography safari ends with thousands of memories—and hopefully a collection of unforgettable African wildlife photographs.
Our photography safaris are designed specifically for guests who want to concentrate on wildlife photography while exploring Tanzania.
