It is in our culture to care and love our families in Tanzania and we spread this phenomenon to our Family Safaris at Eagle Eye Expeditions. Whether is a family get together trip, or a regular family safari we will provide you with a bush experience you have all pictured and wished you would have had once you down in our amazing country Tanzania. The itinerary we have prepared includes Traditional Culture and Wildlife. The family will get to see 3 tribes in the Northern Tanzania which up to this day still live their lives proudly traditional. These are Maasai (Livestock keepers), Hadzabe (Hunters and Gathers), and Datoga (The Blacksmith). The family will get to learn and appreciate the different perspective of life and we make sure that we take our guests to the most authentic families. The Itineraries also have a large portion of wilderness experience. The family will visit 3 amazing parks for wildlife viewing, (Tarangire, Ngorongoro and Serengeti). It is a 12 days safari as shown in the coming itinerary.
12-Day Tanzania Family Safari
Experience an unforgettable Tanzania Family Safari combining incredible wildlife, authentic cultural experiences, and the breathtaking landscapes of Northern Tanzania. This 12-day family adventure takes you from Arusha to Tarangire, Lake Eyasi, Ngorongoro Crater, Eastern Serengeti, and Northern Serengeti. Designed for families who want to experience both wildlife and traditional Tanzanian culture, this safari provides opportunities to meet the Hadzabe, Datoga, and Maasai communities while exploring some of Tanzania's most famous wildlife destinations.
Arrive in Arusha, the gateway to your Tanzania Family Safari. Upon arrival,
you will be welcomed and transferred to your accommodation.
Take the rest of the day to relax after your journey and prepare for your
family safari adventure.
Overnight: Arusha
After breakfast, depart Arusha and drive to Tarangire
National Park.
Begin your wildlife adventure with a game drive through the park, famous for
its large elephant herds, magnificent baobab trees, and diverse wildlife.
Enjoy the beautiful scenery before arriving at your accommodation for your
first safari night.
Overnight Tarangire
Spend a full day exploring Tarangire National Park with your family.
Enjoy game drives through different areas of the park while searching for
elephants, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, buffalo, lions, and other wildlife.
The day provides an excellent introduction to Tanzania's incredible
wilderness.
Overnight: Tarangire
After breakfast, leave Tarangire and drive toward Lake
Eyasi for a unique cultural experience.
Lake Eyasi offers an opportunity to experience a different side of Tanzania
away from the traditional safari routes. Enjoy the scenery and settle into
your accommodation before the following day's cultural activities.
Overnight Lake Eyasi
Start the morning with a cultural experience with the
Hadzabe and Datoga communities.
Learn about the traditional lifestyle of the Hadzabe, known for their
hunting and gathering traditions, and discover the craftsmanship and
traditions of the Datoga people. This experience gives the whole family an
opportunity to learn about different cultures and ways of life.
After the cultural visit, return to the lodge for brunch before continuing
to Karatu for your next two nights.
Overnight: Karatu
After breakfast, descend into the spectacular Ngorongoro
Crater for a full-day game drive.
Explore the crater floor and look for some of Tanzania's most iconic
wildlife, including lions, elephants, buffalo, hippos, zebras, wildebeest,
and other species.
Enjoy a memorable family wildlife experience before returning to your
accommodation in Karatu.
Overnight Karatu
After breakfast, depart Karatu and drive toward the
Eastern Serengeti.
During the journey, visit a traditional Maasai family and learn about their
culture, traditions, and way of life. Continue into the Serengeti ecosystem
and enjoy wildlife viewing along the route.
Arrive at your accommodation in the Eastern Serengeti and relax after the
day's adventure.
Overnight: Eastern Serengeti
Enjoy a full day of game viewing in the Eastern Serengeti.
Your safari guide will tailor the day's activities around wildlife
conditions and your family's interests.
This is an excellent opportunity to experience the Serengeti at a relaxed
pace while searching for lions, elephants, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest and
other wildlife.
Overnight: Eastern Serengeti
After breakfast, continue your Tanzania family safari
toward the Northern Serengeti. The journey itself becomes part of the
adventure, with opportunities for wildlife viewing along the way.
Arrive at your camp and settle in before enjoying the surrounding
wilderness.
Overnight: Northern Serengeti
Spend the day exploring Northern Serengeti. This region is
known for its exceptional wildlife and dramatic landscapes.
Your guide will choose the best areas for game viewing based on seasonal
conditions and recent wildlife movements.
Overnight: Norther Serengeti
Enjoy another full day in Northern Serengeti. Having two
full days here allows your family to explore at a comfortable pace and
increases your opportunities for memorable wildlife encounters.
Whether your children are fascinated by elephants, lions, giraffes or birds,
your guide can make the safari educational and entertaining for everyone.

Enjoy breakfast at camp before a relaxed final game drive toward the airstrip. Fly from Northern Serengeti to your onward destination, bringing your Tanzania family safari adventure to an unforgettable end.
